THE BLUEVIEW
President: Eve Nightingale
Dear Friends,
October is here!! The leaves are turning, children are fully back at school and of course, there is no shortage of things to do within the MJWC.
For starters I would like to thank all who came to the Opening Dinner. It was a boisterous evening of reconnecting with both new and old friends. As my first event as President, I hope you enjoyed this event and I look forward to the upcoming socials on our calendar.
The New Member Wine and Cheese - This will take place on October 25th and all members are invited. Please bring along an appetizer or a bottle of wine, and join us at the Women’s Clubhouse to share your enthusiasm with new and prospective members. If you know anyone who is interested in joining, please contact Ellen Mann as soon as possible so that we may send an invitation out to them.
Business Meeting - I'd like to thank Ariane Foster for hostessing the October Business Meeting. I would also like to express my gratitude to Elaine Davis and Jenn Wood for taking on the positions of Co-VP. They have been active members of the club and are looking forward to taking on this position and I am thrilled to have them on board. During the meeting, we voted to match last year’s donation of $500 to the Foundation for Education. In addition we will give a $350 donation to fund the Monster Dash.
The Juniors have agreed to support the Women’s Club in its fund raising by bringing in volunteers to work the Las Vegas Night on November 4th from 7 to 11 PM. We will need about 40 people to work different shifts that evening at various posts. We will also need some people to come in and enjoy the festivities of the evening. Please contact me at e_nightingale@yahoo.com if you have any interest in assisting.
The first Trunk Show for the MJWC is shaping up to be full of exciting gifts for the holiday season while supporting local women’s businesses. Fitness Unlimited has offered their space for the event on October 21st. Come and see the variety of products as well as the upgrades to the club.
The Community Service Committee is putting the final touches on organized volunteer opportunities in time for the holidays. Children will have an opportunity again this year to sponsor drop off locations for the food drive. For more information please contact Kimberly Zieselman.
I continue to
encourage each member to become more involved and share her
talents. If there is something that you would like to tackle, please
reach out to me or to the director on the committee.
Sincerely,
Eve

Courtney Affanato has enthusiastically volunteered to take on the role of Meals Coordinator for MJWC. Please contact Courtney if you are interested in occasionally cooking and delivering a simple meal. A new knitter joined us in September and start knitting a hat for the NICU. You too can learn to knit and help a good cause. Just come to our next meeting and you will be on your way.
We have decided to wait until after the new member wine and cheese to have the next meeting. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 29th. Put the date on your calendar and plan to start knitting. We don’t have a host house so if you would be willing to host this meeting, for a small group, please call me.
In
addition to the monthly meetings, the club meets on Saturday mornings from 9:30
to 11 at Starbucks. Come join us for a cup and get help on any problems
