THE BLUEVIEW
President: Laura Conway
Dear
Friends,
I promised at the April business
letter I would keep my letters short but I am finding it difficult this
month. I need to begin by thanking Martina Connelly, our past president,
for stepping to run May's
business meeting when I was unable to attend. Her
continued dedication to our club is wonderful and I appreciate, time and time
again, how much she contributes at all levels! Thanks also to
Eileen Cakouros for opening her home for this meeting.
This past month, found us busy
preparing for the Woman's
Club's Fashion Show on May 21st. On April 27th &
29th, members graciously gave of our their time to wash down walls and
paint. The Woman's Club response was one of great appreciation.
They were impressed by how well the foyer looked, despite the fact that we had
yet to finish. They also noted that it was very generous of our
membership to donate their time on what is traditionally a family day,
especially when it was so beautiful. So, to Martina Connelly, Mary Keally,
Patty Facey, Amy Farley, Tricia Heelen, Sheila Varela, Jane Busconi, Suzanne
Oliver, Jean Lang many thanks! A very special thanks also to Tara Curry,
her husband, Sean, and Curry Hardware!!! Through Tara and Sean,
Curry Hardware generously donated the paint and supplies for this
project! Curry Hardware has supported us in the past and continues to
show their dedication to the Milton Community through this donation!
Please thank them the next time you stop in!
I am proud to
announce Barbara Meehan and Martina Connelly have agreed to be our models. And our
child models will be Jackie Bertram, daughter of Sue and Mariah Conway, yes, my
daughter. (I can happily report, I did not attend the meeting when the children
were selected.) Additionally, our raffle
baskets are nearly complete and are quite spectacular!
Thanks to Erin Donahoe, Jessica Cherry, Tammy Vyas, Beth Callahan, Martina
Connelly, Theresa Jolley, and Kristin Daly for their donations, in
addition to those acknowledged last month. Ticket sales will continue
until approximately the 12th of this month. You can contact either Beth
Callahan or Laura Conway. Please
plan on attending, not only to cheer on our lovely models, but to support the
Woman's Club!
April also found us kicking into
high gear for the Milton
Road Race. Patti Elliott reported at our last meeting
that Outback Steakhouse and Pat's Pizza will be providing the food. Great
News! Families, hopefully, will be drawn to Cunningham Park to cheer on
the runners, enjoy themselves, and have some great food!
Sponsorship's response from our other Woman's Clubs in town has been
tremendous! We are very appreciative of their support. Please
remember, to make this event successful, we need your help too! Please
contact the Road Race Committee if you haven't already!
To find out what else is going on
this month and next, please read the newsletter or visit our website at http://www.miltonjuniorwomansclub.com
and click on calendar.
Finally, our sincere condolences
are extended to Elaine Schiffman, past president, on the passing of her mother
in April. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.
Sincerely,
Laura Conway

The Executive Board for
next year is almost complete.
We still need a few members to assist the President in a Vice President capacity (help planning the opening and closing dinners, Christmas party and as back up for the monthly meetings).
The Treasurer position is also still open. If anyone has a few hours a month to maintain an excel spreadsheet to record payments (dues and road race money) and reimburse expenses we need your help. If you can balance your checkbook you can handle this job!
Website Updater is also needed. If you are comfortable using the computer Eileen Cakouros can show you what needs to be done to keep the website updated (mostly posting the monthly newsletters).
