THE BLUEVIEW
President: Laura Conway
Dear
Friends,
With
October and two successful events behind us, we are truly off and
running. The Martinis, Manicures, and Monogramming event was great fun
and extremely well attended. Thanks to Barbara Meehan, Erin Donahoe, and
Reni Doulos-Cadigan of the Food and Wine Committee for organizing it and a
special thanks to Barbara Meehan for hosting. The New Member Wine
and Cheese, held this past Thursday night, exceeded many of our expectations,
with a fantastic turnout of prospective members. Thanks to
Christine Kelly, Ellen Mann, Lisa Broderick, Sheila Leddy, and Rachel Schewe of
the Membership Committee for getting the word out and putting together a
great night. And a special thanks to Courtney Affanato for willingly
opening her house to host this event.
This month's business meeting was
graciously hosted by Susan Collins who attempted to unload her halloween
candy. We approved a $500 donation to the Milton Foundation for Education
to serve as a silent auction sponsor at the Celebration for Education event on
November 19th. And after discussion of upcoming events, halloween candy
still remained. Please note, there is no business meeting scheduled for
December, we will next meet in January at the annual meeting.
There are many opportunities to
get involved this month. Home Life will be providing us
with a volunteer opportunity at the Milton Food Pantry filling Thanksgiving
bags on November 12th. The Book Club will
be meeting on November 8th to discuss My
Sister's Keeper. The Knitting Club will meet on November
16th, so pick up an old hobby or learn how to knit those scarves
to keep warm this winter. The club has very talented members to help you
on your way. The Road Race Committee will be meeting at Starbucks on November
22nd. Feel free to attend to find out how you can
help. And finally the Program Committee will be
hosting a craft night on November 29th. Susanna Ryan
will be helping us create beautiful holiday wreaths to decorate our homes!
A reminder to all, dues
should be sent to Luisa Thomas c/o MJWC PO Box 344 Milton, MA 02186
by November 15th in order to have your name included in the Directory.
Congratulations to Jeannine &
Joe Reardon on the birth of their son, John Barry. He joins big sister
Maggie. And congratulations also go to Christine and Douglas Rotundi on
the birth of their son, Alexander. He joins big brother Nicholas.
If a member has had a baby, please let Kim Zieselman of Home Life know if meals
are needed and Eve Nightingale, our Corresponding Secretary, so we may
recognize your birth.

fundraiser to benefit the Woman's Club on December 10th. Please
mark your calendars! We will be showing The Polar
Express. Christmas Caroling for the Council on Aging will take place

friends!
