Annual Road Race Takes Off June 13

The 29th Annual Milton 10k Road Race will return to the second Tuesday night in June this year, June 13.

The Milton Junior Woman’s Club, the group that organizes the event, still hopes to add more runners to this year’s roster.

The 5k and 10k race begins at Cunningham Park at 6:30 p.m. Age classes for runners are: wheelchair, 17 and under, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over. Medals will be awarded to those who place in the 5k, and those who place in the 10k will receive medals and a cash prize. Entry fee is $18 (non-refundable) for those pre-registering and $20 the day of the race. The first 300 pre-registered participants for the 5k and 10k will receive a T-shirt.

The Kids Fun Run will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and is $5 per child.

The start and finish of both the 5k and 10k courses will be slightly altered to accommodate the election.

The race will start at Fuller’s Lane and Edge Hill Road and runners will end the race by running down the access road to Cunningham Park and will then take their first right ending by the Girl Scout houses.

All road race activities will take place on the fields by Fuller’s Lane. New maps are available, at 617-696-8141. Voting will be at Cunningham Hall as scheduled.

Runners are asked to park behind Cunningham Park by the barn.
